Egyptian walking onion – A wild regarded as the oldest wild onion that was a staple in ancient Egypt. The long thick green stalk are terrific scallions: the clusters of bulbs at the top are tender, savory, and mild; the below ground bulb may also be used as an onion. It will maintain itself as a perennial if the underground bulb is not removed.
